Anxiety – Depression – OCD – Mood Disorders
Often, academic and behavior struggles are signs of emotional factors needing treatment.
My counseling services address the commonly co-existing needs of kids with ADHD/ADD. It is estimated that up to 80% of ADHD/ADD kids have a second mental health diagnosis. Anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder are some of the more common.
I have a unique combination of ADHD knowledge and professional experience in both education, mental health, and juvenile corrections. These blessings give me a specialized skill set, and passion, for working with kids with fast minds and struggling executive functions.
Happy to serve: Youth (ages 5-25) and Families
You will find that my counseling style is a balance between casually comfortable and challenging empowerment. Building trust and rapport is absolute first priority, while providing information to indirectly influence a healthier perspective and resulting behaviors.
The Center for Disease Control and The American Association of Pediatrics recommend behavioral interventions (behavior therapy, counseling and coaching) as a first line of treatment for ADHD.
